Quizter ("we", "us", "the app") is a native Android quiz game developed and operated by an independent individual developer, not a registered legal entity. We do not maintain a separate registered business address. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or about your data, you can contact us at vitaly.sotnik@gmail.com.
This Privacy Policy describes what information Quizter and the third-party services it uses collect, why, and what choices you have. It applies to the Quizter Android app only.
Quizter has no backend server of its own and does not require you to create an account. Core gameplay — questions, answers, your progress, and experience points (XP) — works fully offline: all quiz content is bundled with the app as local files, and all your gameplay data is generated, stored, and used entirely on your device (see §3.1). An internet connection is needed only for the features described below: displaying advertising (§3.5), sending analytics/crash-diagnostic events (§3.2, §3.3 — these degrade gracefully with no network available), delivering push notifications (§3.4), and — for users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom only — the one-time consent screen described in §5.
The information described below is collected either (a) directly by the app's own code and sent to Google Firebase, or (b) by the third-party advertising SDK, Appodeal, and the ad networks it mediates.
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how players use the app (e.g., which onboarding steps are completed, which game mode is played, whether a run is finished or abandoned, whether rewarded ads are used to continue). This is aggregate product-usage data.
tutorial_begin, tutorial_complete,
level_up, onboarding_step_completed, mode_tutorial_shown,
run_started, run_level_completed, run_finished,
run_abandoned, ad_trigger_fired, rewarded_continue_used,
custom_topic_tapped, push_primer_response,
language_changed, name_changed, avatar_changed. These
events carry only gameplay-shaped parameters (e.g. game mode, level number, whether an answer
was correct, ad placement/type) — never your entered name or avatar. If the app crashes or encounters certain errors, Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects a crash report to help us fix bugs. Based on what is actually written to the device by this SDK, this includes: a stack trace of the crash, device/app information (device model, OS version, app version), and device/install-scoped identifiers — a Firebase Installation ID and a Crashlytics installation ID — that let us tell crash reports apart without identifying you personally.
We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications, if you allow them. This requires a device-specific push registration token, generated by Google and tied to this app installed on this device, so we can address a notification to your device.
The content and sending schedule of push notifications themselves are still being designed (tracked separately); this section will be revisited if that design introduces any data collection beyond the push registration token described above.
Quizter shows ads (App Open / Native Banner / Rewarded / Interstitial) through the Appodeal SDK, which mediates a number of third-party ad networks. As required by Appodeal, we disclose here that Appodeal and/or the ad networks it works with collect:
The exact list of ad networks (technically, "TCF vendors") that may process your data changes over time and is disclosed live, in the app itself, through Appodeal's consent screen and the "Privacy Options" row in Quizter's Settings (see §5 below). Rather than reproduce that list here (it would go stale immediately), we point you to:
The ad networks Appodeal currently mediates for Quizter are: Meta, AppLovin MAX, Unity Ads, Vungle, LevelPlay, Mintegral, Pangle, IAB, and BidMachine.
Quizter does not have a minimum age requirement and is intended for a general audience. The app does not require account creation and does not collect personally identifiable information (such as your name, email address, or phone number) directly from you — the display name and avatar you optionally choose are stored only on your device (§3.1) and are not collected by us. The app's content consists of neutral, general-audience trivia questions. Because of this, Quizter does not implement COPPA-specific (or equivalent) age-verification or parental-consent mechanisms.
We do not operate our own servers or database — gameplay data lives on your device. Data sent to Firebase and Appodeal is retained and processed according to their own privacy policies and may be processed in countries other than your own:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in a revised version of this document. We do not currently provide active in-app notifications for changes to this Policy.
